Amazing place! Lots of help available
City dwellers looking for a weekend getaway, look elsewhere. The campsites are extremely small. It is quite obvious they wanted to milk money out of the small land they had. That area should be 7-8 sites, max. That was disappointing. The bathhouse feature was nice, I guess.They ran out of toilet paper often, and didn't have a single shelf in the shower rooms. Pretty inconvenient, as not everything can be hung from a hook. As a non-white person, be prepared to be the only person of ANY color in a 25-mile radius. Also, be prepared to sleep next to and between multiple trucks with Confederate stickers and flags. The river on the low-water route still had extremely low water! That's just a damper on kayaking, I couldn't even imagine canoeing. I'll be going to more modern places, maybe still in this area of Arkansas, where you can book online and view site maps. The trip was boring. This is just too rural. We left two days early and didn't bother trying to get our money back.
It is very rare that I believe in giving a company a poor rating unless there is something significantly wrong with my service or food. But let me break this down for you all as to why I had to spend my birthday (July 8) floating the river and thinking about negative thoughts from a Black American's prospective.
We tend to go to this place once a year. it has a fantastic camp ground with really nice showers. You can rent Kayaks and canoes for your trip.
I am truly ashamed that I even continued to allow cash to flow through your business after seeing that.
One of our favorite places to Kayak. the kids love how they can kayak this track unlike the Buffalo. We live In Louisiana and this is close enough for a one day trip . Prices are great.
I arrived to the rental office and we paid our fees, got directions, and headed down to get started floating the day. Unfortunately, the first thing I see upon our arrival was a confederate flag. A FREAKING*** Confederate Flag! This is America and yes people have the right to express themselves thanks to the First Amendment. But this a business establishment, I don't think it is RIGHT or ACCEPTABLE to pose your RACIST beliefs upon your customers. You will never get my business EVER again!
This is 2017, let me repeat, this is 2017 and if you want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN; then you need to FIX your RACIST beliefs.
